Self Learning
Self Learning
Teaching and learning are no longer confined to four walls. Modern education empowers students to learn by themselves within or out of their faculty. JIET also opens the door for the students to spread their wings of desire and quench their thirst for knowledge. MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses), NPTEL (National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning), SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) are the platforms provided by the Government of India and facilitated by JIET. NKN (National Knowledge Network), an initiative by "Government of India, is a multi-gigabit national research and education network whose purpose is to provide a unified high-speed network backbone for India's educational institutions.
+ MOOC
A massive open online course (MOOC) is an online course with open access and interactive participation using the Web. MOOCs provide participants with course materials generally used in a conventional education setting - such as examples, lectures, videos, study materials and problem sets. Apart from this, MOOCs offer interactive user forums, which are extremely useful in building a community for students, teachers and professionals. As per the guidelines of AICTE, Our University has the provision of taking credits earned through MOOC into account. Further, If any student makes a total of 20 credits (as per guidelines), they will become eligible for getting an HONOURS degree.
+ NPTEL
NATIONAL PROGRAMME ON TECHNOLOGY ENHANCED LEARNING (NPTEL) provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware. Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) And the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore executed the NPTEL Programme.
+ VIRTUAL LAB
An Initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Under the National Mission on Education through ICT to provide remote access to Labs in various science and engineering disciplines. These Virtual Labs would cater to students at the undergraduate level, postgraduate level, and research scholars to enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity which would help them learn basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation.
It provides a complete learning management system where the students can avail themselves the various tools for learning, including additional web resources, video lectures, animated demonstrations, self-evaluation and also share costly equipment and resources which are otherwise available to a limited number of users due to constraints on time and geographical distances.
+ SWAYAM
SWAYAM is a programme initiated by the Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. This effort aims to take the best teaching-learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy. Courses delivered through SWAYAM are available free of cost to the learners. However, students wanting certifications shall be registered shall be offered a certificate on successful completion of the course, with a nominal fee. + SPOKEN TUTORIAL
FOSS RESOURCE CENTER in association with IIT Bombay
The Spoken Tutorial project is the 'Talk to a Teacher activity of the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India. The Spoken Tutorial Resource Centre of IIT Bombay has also been set up at JIET to aid the technical enhancement of our students.
Our Students may learn IT Software Courses at their convenience. Expand the horizon of Knowledge; join courses@SpokenTutorial
+ NATIONAL KNOWLEDGE NETWORK(NKN)
Some of the salient features of the NKN are-
- Establishing Connectivity for Knowledge and information sharing.
- Enabling Collaborative Research in emerging areas such as Climate Modelling.
- Facilitating distance education in specialized fields such as medicine, emerging high tech areas covering info-bio-nano technology.
- Facilitating an ultra-high-speed e-governance backbone for information sharing.
+ GOOGLE CLASSROOM
Google Classroom aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments in a paperless way. The primary purpose of Google Classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students. Google Classroom combines Google Drive for assignment creation and distribution, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for writing, Gmail for communication, and Google Calendar for scheduling. Students can be invited to join a class through a secret code or automatically imported from a college domain. Each class creates a separate folder in the respective user's Drive, where the student can submit work to be graded by a teacher. Mobile apps, available for iOS and Android devices, let users take photos, attach to assignments, share files from other apps, and access information offline. Teachers can monitor each student's progress, and after being graded, teachers can return work along with comments.
The G-Suite for Education account is linked with the Institution's official website (jietjodhpur.ac.in), which enables the teachers and students to access G-Suite anywhere via a regular Gmail login portal. The Google Classroom can be accessed with their official email account instead of their personal Gmail account. Experience the new way of learning. In case of any difficulty, students are advised to connect with the concerned subject teacher or Head of Department. To reset the password of the official email, please write to [suresh.verma@jietjodhpur.ac.in][22]
