Nursing is a noble profession. It is also a profession that in today's world is most sought after because of the respect it has gained and the high financial gains possible. There is a worldwide shortage of trained nurses. Nursing as an occupational has always existed. The mission of the nursing program is to develop highly educated, knowledgeable, skill-oriented graduates who possess the necessary attitude to become entry-level nurses to serve the need of the community.

The mission of the JIET College of nursing (JIETCON) is to prepare graduate nurses to collaboratively function in inter-professional healthcare teams to meet the need of an increasingly complex patient population. While caring is a necessary component of the practices of nursing, it is not sufficient. Nurses must have a strong theoretical and scientific basis for the practice of nursing, thus the curriculum is grounded in science as well as the art of nursing.

Our graduates are prepared to promote, maintain and restore health, and provide end of life care for diverse individuals of all ages and communities using evidence-based, gain independence, organize work, take imitative, supervise others, and be responsible employees and life-long learners. JIETCON's focus on faith and ethical decision-making equips students with sound leadership skills.

My heartiest congratulation to all the nursing fraternity

Prof. K.Punitha Laxhami
